Nancy with her two dogs, holding a stack of her mugs beside a mountain river

Nancy was introduced to pottery in Illinois by her grandmother Jane, where Jane invited her grandkids to use the kick wheel once their feet were tall enough to reach the flywheel. Nancy returned to the craft years later in Durango, Colorado after being inspired by the rich, red earth of the American Southwest. Nancy is drawn to designing jewelry, large mugs and bowls, and experimenting with new techniques as often as she can. She is based in Marquette, Michigan where the deep blue colors of the lake, ancient rock formations, and greenery inspire her work.
